Epsom, New Hampshire

Welcome to Epsom, New Hampshire, one of the state’s finest communities.  From its wonderful school system to its great location, this semi-affluent town has everything a growing family could need or want.  Epsom is slightly east of center in the central-southern part of the Granite State which lends to easy travel and short travel times when visiting the many interesting attractions and communities throughout the state.

Likely named after Epsom, England, the town of Epsom, NH was one of the first seven towns chartered in the state before New Hampshire became an independent state with a government not based in its neighboring state.  When the town was first granted, in 1727, New Hampshire was still a province of Massachusetts and had no governing body to call its own.  At that time, several towns were chartered in New Hampshire, with Epsom among them.  Much to the disappointment of New England residents, the English town of Epsom is the one for which “Epsom Salts” are named, not Epsom, New Hampshire.

Epsom lies within about fifteen minutes of the New Hampshire state capital of Concord and within about twenty minutes of Manchester, the state’s largest city.  While Epsom has a good deal of businesses itself, the two nearby cities give residents a lot of options when it comes to shopping, dining and entertainment.  The best part is, when you’re finished shopping, eating and being entertained, you can return home to Epsom in no time at all.  Epsom residents get to enjoy the convenience of city life while living in the clean countryside, breathing clean country air.

And close proximity to the cities isn’t the only selling point for Epsom.  Located directly on east-west Route 4, Epsom is only a thirty-minute drive to the Dover-Portsmouth area on the seacoast.  The exciting beaches of Hampton are just another fifteen minutes further.  Don’t like the beach?  Jump onto north-south Route I-93 and be viewing breathtaking mountain scenery inside of forty-five minutes.  Don’t want to drive?  Bear Brook State Park is only five minutes from Epsom’s center and Pawtuckaway State Park is but twenty.  Much like the entire state of New Hampshire, living in Epsom is all about the great outdoors.

Epsom is a part of School Administrative Unit #53.  Epsom’s Central School educates resident children from kindergarten age through the eighth grade.  Epsom students of high school age are tuitioned at the Pembroke Academy in neighboring Pembroke, NH.

If you’re looking to buy a new home, look no further, you’ve found the perfect spot.  Epsom and all the other wonderful communities in New Hampshire offer a classic New England feel that just can’t be found elsewhere.  Steeped in traditional family values, New Hampshire towns are perfect for raising a family or retiring in peace and tranquility.  To see what homes are for sale in the Granite State, peruse this website or call Jim Miller Bean Group at (603) 801-3987.  We’re here to help you find the perfect home in our great state.  Call today and let’s get things moving!
