Bartlett, New Hampshire Bartlett, NH, is a small town tucked away in the mountainous region of northern Carroll County. The rocky soil made farming difficult while the town’s location made the transportation of goods a long, arduous task. Over time, as railroad tracks began striping the land, NH residents began exploring their state and discovered the incredible beauty that the White Mountains held in spades. Soon, tourism became the area’s most vital industry and remains so today. Bartlett’s most well known attraction is Attitash Bear Peak Ski and Summer Resort. Drawing crowds from hundreds of miles around, Attitash Bear Peak offers 75 trails and glade skiing on 283 skiable acres with 12 chair lifts to speed skiers to the top of the mountain. Another popular attraction in Bartlett has to be Storyland USA, a Mother Goose-themed amusement park aimed at younger children. Storyland was owned by the Morrell Corporation for over fifty years until it was purchased in 2007 by Kennyworld Entertainment Company, a large, nationwide amusement park chain. Today, Bartlett is a modern town in every sense of the word, yet it still clings to its New England heritage and retains a small-town charm. Bartlett is a member of SAU #9 and educates all resident students from kindergarten through the eighth grade at the Josiah Bartlett School.
